Forget Me Not

I suppose I should've known that when you pick up a book written by The Vice President on the International Thriller Writers Board of Directors that you should expect to stay up all night. But, as is my policy when reviewing a book, I didn't read the author bio. I always read the author bio after I finish a book. So let me just say - I didn't even stop to take a bathroom break. And if you know me, you know that means I was seriously riveted... and maybe dehydrated.
The author gives us an inside view of the victims, the bad guys, and everyone in between. It works because the backstory is woven in a way that you engage with each character and find the likable in the unlikable. Did I like the story itself? No. Not so much. But I normally don't like things that make me frown and gasp - I don't like watching CSI or Dateline so if you do, you might. I love Mary Higgins Clark for her ability to keep me flipping the pages and guessing, but I hated the horror part of it. It's the same with this book. If you like the genre of thriller, I think this book is a safe bet for you - click on the cover art to check it out. 4 out of 5 booklights. This book was provided for review by Waterbrook/Multnomah Publishers.
