Summer Goes By So Fast

I'm in middle of a platform war - meaning that I have a PC laptop that I'm trying to decide whether I like some of it's features enough to blog with it instead of the Mac. After a lot of near cussing, I've decided that my PC is great for creating written documents, but I'm going to stay loyal to Mac for any other artistic endeavors.
So, since I've yet to upload my very full camera, I'll just share a few things before I forget them, then I'll add a truckload of pictures in the near future.

We recently went to Florida to visit my family. I won't say too much about the trip as the pics will, no doubt, bring up stories, but to sum up the kids are still talking about the amazing fun they had.
Anabelle came home picking up yet another new phrase.... wait for it (no, that's not the new phrase).

VBS was this last week and exhaustion has finally lifted off my shoulders. Coming back from a long airplane trip and car ride to preschool Sunday school and then VBS takes a lot of energy - especially if you can't help but be physically silly whenever you see little kids. So, it was a good time of singing and dancing, but one of the first days of VBS, Anabelle's teacher approached me. "Anabelle has a way with words," he said.

That's a very politically correct way of saying, "You would not believe what your daughter just said to me."

He proceeded, "We were trying to come up with a little cheer for our group when Anabelle looks over at me and dryly says, 'Whatever you're selling, I'm not buying.'"

There was no rock to crawl under. And, if I knew for sure who taught her that phrase (I never say that, honestly) then they'd be hearing from me.

Anabelle, does, to be fair have an amazing memory. I was looking over some reading material last night when I stumbled on a word. "Mike, what's an aglet?"

"I have no idea," he said.

"I know," Anabelle said, entering the office. "It's the tip of the shoelace - the plastic thing."

Mike and I both froze.

She heard it somewhere. Be afraid, very afraid. I know I am.
