Berenstain Bear Experience

You remember those Berenstain Bears Books where Papa Bear would teach the kids what not to do (by accident of course). The most vivid memory I have is with how not to get honey from the bees.

Anyway, I had one of those times. I was in a hurry and even though I usually wear jeans if I ever ride Mike's motorcycle, and even though I tell the kids they need to wear pants, socks, and shoes if they ever ride - I made the impatient choice to just this once go in shorts.

As the title suggests, I got to show the kids firsthand why it is you should always wear pants. Yep, I burnt my leg real good. It was humbling, and painful, and did I mention humbling?
So yes, I will be wearing a bandage on my calf for awhile and yes, it'll probably leave me a little scar but most of all - as I'm with kids seemingly all the time, I get asked the question many, many times, "Mrs.H, what'd you do to your leg?!?"

And I get to answer, many times, "I made a bad decision." And I get to share how being tired on a motorcycle and not wearing long pants is a BAD decision, that and I learned that there is such a thing as an exhaust heat shield which we will be getting.
