Favorite Moments

My favorite moments from Anabelle's birthday:
1) When she woke up she declared that she wanted to eat with us instead of breakfast in bed.

2) She is a girl who knows how to be true to herself, sometimes to the extreme, but is learning to be polite - so she hit a somewhat middle ground today. As all the partygoers sat down she said, "Birthday girl gets to eat first!" Then, "Just kidding." As the kids were finishing their cupcakes she shouted, "The Best Part - Present TIme!" Then, "Just Kidding."
A couple minutes later: "Hurry up! I want my presents!" Then, "Just Kidding."

3) Watching her be ultra silly with her friends and them eating it up and getting just as silly with her.

4) The girl loves her chocolate.

5) Okay, this wasn't from today, but on our roadtrip we stopped at Red Robin. Anabelle remembered last year when Katarina went to Red Robin for her birthday, and asked if it could be her birthday dinner just a few days early.

6) At dinner I asked Anabelle, "How many times do you suppose you said, "Just Kidding" today?"
She replied, "One hundred." Then she smiled, "Just kidding!" She laughed. "Okay, one hundred-one. Just kidding! One hundred-two."
7) She wanted to be fancy before she let me light the candle and make a wish.
8) As we're eating she tells us a joke. "Okay, Mom, tell me why the spider crossed the computer."
"I don't know," I said.
"To get to it's website."
I laughed pretty hard. "Where'd you hear that joke?"
"It was on Thea's string cheese wrapper at school."
"Oh, you guys liked that joke, huh?"
"No, we didn't laugh."
"Then why'd you tell me?"
Sam interjected, "You laugh at ALMOST all our jokes."
Anabelle shrugged. "I just don't get those chicken crossing the road jokes. They're just not funny to me. The spider one was much better at least."

9)After she blew out the candle she stared at her cupcake a moment. "Dang it, I can't get the Happy Birthday song out of my head!"

10) She spent the whole night playing with crafty/art toys she got for her birthday.
